O-zone league scoring

In order to bring a little healthy competition into the O-zone we are scoring each event and putting together a league, so that prizes can be awarded after event 4. The scoring system is designed to reward persistence and not to penalise a bad run too much.
  • There are four events, best three scores count towards the final total
  • Points are awarded on a sliding scale for each course, with more points being the harder the course
  • 1st place on White gains 100 points
  • 1st place on Yellow gains 105 points
  • 1st place on Orange gains 120 points
  • 1st place on Technical gains 140 points
  • 1 point is deducted for each place, so 2nd on White is worth 99, 3rd 98 etc.
  • For people who run more than once at the same event their best score will count
  • Starting, but not completing any course will be worth 50 points

Prizes will be awarded in a number of categories dependant on age and experience. All scores are calculated following the above formulae. However, the decision to award prizes remains with the O-zone coordinator. Any queries about the scoring or league table should be emailed to webmaster@o-zone.org.uk
