Thanks and Comments: | ||||||||||
John Denmark produced a very clear, extended map and offered challenging courses, with controls spread over a wide area. It seemed that whichever time limit you chose, there came a decision point: could you get out to the next batch of controls? Consequently a few people ended up with significant penalites whilst several came in early. The young Hardings judged it well, achieving an excellent score on the 60 minutes.Thanks to John and Sue for planning and organising, and arranging a very good venue for the prizegiving and social. Also thanks to Dave Johnstone, Chris Roberts, Paul Ferguson, John Ashton, Karen Nash for helping make the evening run smoothly and on time. It was a fitting climax to a successful season. Thanks to all those who have organise and helped. Congratulations to the prize winners: Overall and Men's Champion, Quentin Harding; Ladies Champion, Karen Nash; Pairs Champions, Matt & Chris Nash and Best Novices,: Katrin & Zoe Harding. I am already starting to plan next season - offers to organise an event, map a new area, update an existing map or any general comments and suggestions gratefully received. Thank
you to all who came along to the Lonsdale Club on a blustery night. Sue and I
hope that you all enjoyed the challenge I set you. I had intended to print a
few notes to explain some of the peculiarities of the competition, for
example the H fractions with no numbers and the fact that some clues were
quite high and were faint(ish) and I did advise in the pre-race information
that good eyesight and a good torch would be favourable! Unfortunately the
passing away of my mother on the 8th sidetracked me and I forgot to write and
print the warnings about the blank H's and the odd ones with more than one
interpretation. Basically we only need proof that you have visited the site
and everyone was very gracious on the night; my thanks to you all. I intend to
analyse the score sheets to try and see what the control usage was. I suspect
that some were not visited at all. I’ll try to do this as soon as possible
and have it uploaded onto the website. The Lonsdale Club were very
accommodating and I think that it is probably the best venue for Street O on
the map; Fulwood has very few pubs and they all present one problem or other
to being an ideal venue. |

Once again, many thanks go to you all for participating and to the Lonsdale Club for hosting the event. We have one item of lost property, a Large Saucony jacket, beige on colour. If it’s yours please ring Sue or I on 01772 700327 or 07885 470619. Alternatively email on John@denmark.demon.co.uk | ||||||||||
