Planners Thanks and Comments:
I had a few hiccups on this my first attempt at planning a street ‘O’. Control 18 was marked wrong and I gave the points to all those who pointed this out. Also 47 was a bit ambiguous, however on checking, there were only two possible correct answers and these were given the points. It would have been useful to have clear guidelines on what to do when it is obvious that a competitor has visited the correct check point but has made a mistake writing down the number. In such cases we have decided to award the points.
I tried to make the route choice difficult and from the feedback I received, it looks like I managed to achieve this and most people seemed to enjoy themselves. Thanks again to all those who turned up and made all the work worthwile.  Thanks to Marian, Stefan & Katja who have helped in various ways.

Steve Wrigley
Street League Co-Ordinator’s Comments:
The Royal Station Hotel provided ample space and a central location for the Start. It gave competitors a range of choices on heading out of the door. North on the long loops around Warton and out to the motorway junction, east to the hiller parts of Carnforth, or south, with the option of the coastal lane. Whichever way you went there were the problems posed by the separation of the various clusters of housing and hence controls. Another cold night with frost on the ground, but a good night for running once you got going. Steve McLean just lost out again to Steve Lang, being hampered this time by light failure just as he took to the darkest lanes.  John Ashton carrying an injury achieved an excellent score in 40 minutes. Thanks to first-time organiser Steve Wrigley, assisted by Marian Solera. I am aware that there have been some problems and inconsistencies over when to allow points and will be tightening the guidelines for next season. Meanwhile, the penultimate event of the season is on a new area, Fulwood West. Full details below. Don't forget your £2 and your towel.
