Planners Thanks and Comments
A good turnout - 38 adults and 1 junior competed, including some newcomers who seemed to like it, so we hope to see them back.
Control problems:
Control 10. Apparently, in addition to the 4 there was also a faint 2, so 4+2 also OK.
Control 12. Tim and I both thought this was clear enough, halfway along the footpath between the footpath crossing and the road end, and 16 put the intended answer of 4. However 6 competitors put 3 (at the road end). As so many put 3, and it is in the control circle I am allowing it as correct.
Control 30. ‘H Nos.’ was meant to refer to hydrant H fractions, which 21 competitors got correct, but 3 competitors put 28, the nearest house number. As this wasn’t very clear to less experienced street orienteers I am allowing it as correct.
Control 49. Similarly to control 30, which again 21 competitors got correct, but 2 competitors put 10, the nearest house number, which I am also allowing as correct.
Thanks to Tim for checking all the controls, and to Tim and Frances for helping on the night, and for your map compliments.
