Planners Comments
A long, long time ago, when the bracken was young, there was an orienteering event being planned. And all was well, with a solid, nearby field to park in, and really good open fell terrain – and before global warming the bracken would be long gone by late November.
Well, considering how things went after that, it wasn't a surprise that the weather on the day conspired against us. The event was only rescued at all through a tremendous amount of hard work by the organisers. They, and you the competitors, deserved better luck. Had the bright, clear weather from Saturday lasted one more day, then everyone's experience would have been so much better and the courses felt much shorter. It was instructive to stand at the finish, a little nervously at first, and then hear very few negative comments, even from those who had clearly had an “epic”.
Thanks to all of you who supported this event, and we hope that our efforts gave you a worthwhile day.

N.B. Controls that Failed.
Unfortunately a few of the controls failed to
function during the event. They were taken out of the results once
they were found to be faulty. The controls affected were:
111
173
118 (Failed during last 1/3rd of event, so some
results show it whilst others do not)
Any changes to these results will be posted later
this week.
