Planner's Comments
Thanks everyone for turning up on a mild February evening. I enjoyed planning the event as it gave a purpose
to my training runs over the past few months. I hope people were not too put out by telegraph
pole numbers being too high and hard to read at night. They seemed easy enough by day ! Some
of the H fractions too were faint, but I expected that they would not all be read accurately,
and have allowed for this in the marking.
I am sorry some people came across other hazards, but they were not under my control. I wish
Moz a rapid recovery. He found himself having to walk back from some way out and incurred
severe time penalties as a result.
My thanks go to Roger for checking all the controls and correcting a few errors along the way,
and to Kira and Hazel for helping check score sheets and count money. I have gone through and
rechecked them all again. Thanks too to Ian for making life so much easier with all the
templates he E-mailed to me, and all the background work he does for all the street
"O"s.
Rowena
Welcome to the Team Harding, we hope you enjoyed your first Street Event, and that we see you again at our next Northern event. Also good to see again the intrepid cyclist David Downes, it is a bit of a scare when he swoops past. Marian Solera took a night off from her studies at adjacent St. Martins College, to show Steve the way around Lancaster. ( A strange Valentines’ week night out !)
Thanks to Rowena for a nice event, and the condensation cloud outside the launderette was impressive and unexpected when I came round the corner.
