Planner's Comments (Dave Kesby)
So the Christmas spirit didn't manage to get the better of people!
Thanks to everyone who took part - a good New Year showing. This was
my first time planning a Street O and it was a good experience. I
learned a great deal from doing it (including some top tips on predicting
Lamp Post numbering!). I think I was greatly helped by the nature of
Kirkham with it's interesting "L" shape with Wesham, the single
track option around the top and that residential area in the west with one
way in and one way out. Other great helps were Tim Watkins for
controlling, Francis Watkins for helping out on the night, and of course
Ian for minimising what I had to do in terms of paperwork and admin.
Thanks.
Finally, on reflection it's probably not such a good idea to use a
metal telegraph pole for a control. It looked too much like a lamp
post! But it had wires at the top and not a light, so what is
it? Perhaps this philosophical question is too much for anyone
to ask of a tired and sweating Street
O'er!
