Planner's Comments
Perhaps I was a little vindictive in the planning, but you always get value for money with
me .
The new estate near the start is one of the most complex that I have been through . It took
me 3 goes before I could get the roads to join up when coming in from different sides as I
was drawing the map , and I not sure its right yet .
The estate took its toll on speed merchant Paul Turner, who, at the end of an already
arduous run became disoriented in the estate, and left in the wrong direction .
Congratulations to him though, on getting all the 40’s !
The weather was perfect. The venue was good I thought. The turnout was good at 28 people
and 22 teams. The pub was very helpful, even though the search parties were a little late.
Thanks to Peter Knott for checking and timekeeping, and to everyone for coming along .
See you at Padiham
Dave H
Congratulations to John B on his first win of the season, and to Edward, David K, and Steve
on continuing their impressive progress. Thanks to David and Peter for an enjoyable and
testing event.
It was good to see our old friends from North Fylde again. Andrea was a regular pairs
competitor a few years ago, but is now concentrating on her running, and is a regular
Lancashire team member. With a performance like this one, she will always be welcome to
join SROC and our all star ladies team.
Thanks for co-operating with the trialling of the upgrading of safety procedures that we
believe will be necessary to protect the Organiser ( and yourselves ) when the proposed
competitions on the highway’ regulations come into effect. Please read the safety notices
and hazard warnings at each event, and note that the courses closing at 8.30 allows us all
to share time together at the pub, and vacate hired rooms.
Maurice Dean confirms there will be a Hot-Pot at Leyland, with a Cheese and Onion Pie
vegetarian alternative. If you will not be at Gt Harwood, please book your meal choice
with me soonest. The food cost is £2 a head, which I hope to subsidise from our prize
fund.
