  1. Committee Posts
  • CR no specific job but Si and Web expertise at our meetings
  • Others all happy in present roles
  • Action KN to email committee post job specs to CR for web, also new membership fees
  • Equipment Officer- PK volunteered in absence of anyone else. Others to approach as local to the garage are Roy/Juliette and Bill Hylsop Action MR to ask

  1. Club Objectives ( and Whole Sport Plan)

Progress so far was discussed. Agreed to add what we feel is a minimum balance for the club to hold. Also ‘social’ – book AGM, accommodation, tent, banner etc Perhaps we need a person for this role alone?

Thought senior training could go on parallel with SRJS eg for beginners from O zone.

We have funds for planners/ organizers workshop so need to do this- Jan?

Waterproof paper- MR had spoken to AF. Concerns re mud but feel there are many benefits for pre-entry events. CR said nopesport said overall cost was little difference

Action KN to ask PF for list of pros and cons ready for Nov meeting- including cost and practicalities of printing.

Action MR will revise and circulate to us pre Nov

  1. Mapping – report from AF
  • Farelton- CSC March09 and TWT Nov 09 Action MR tell AF yes go ahead
  • Dunsop Bridge- no chance to look at suitability yet
  • Roeburndale and Wellington Wood – use grants Action AF is trying to get Malcolm Campbell, no success yet  Action RB to check that it will be ready for Jan 1st
  • Action KN to check that the quality control issue is sorted ( has AF met with PF re this)
  • Discussion re Sprint O map at Lanc Uni- view is we should check permission and then plan to hold an event as we would then have to do it, rather than wait forever until building work is over Action DC to get this permission in writing, especially to run through the spine ( liaise with DH)
  • Ian Selby is to check out the woods at bottom of Nicky Nook towards the motorway Action SW ask DH for ownership details and AF to send map to Ian
  • QH suggested housing estate behind Salt Ayre would be good for sprint O

  1. Fixtures (see sheet)
  • CR asked for some guidance for the web as to what to include. Agreed NW site is still poor but in meantime have a link from SROC to the ‘event site with the flags’
  • 2008 Broughton Fell – QH said lots of fell that could be sued Action RB and DH to get agreement from the Commoners
  • Roeburndale – Roomes to organize and KH and Zoe to plan, with an other putting controls out on the day Action RB chase AF for map
  • Handicap – discussion about date and suitability of day before CSC, agreed yes on Jan 12th as few available weekends Action PK pass on notes to SW Action RB ask DH for file to  book Barrowfield village hall
  • Next summer/ autumn O zone – wait until see how this on goes. It may center on Preston not Chorley and link with LYG and then Chorley in 2009 to link with the sprint. Would need to indentify areas around Preston to use.
  • 2009- need to know if N Nook is on OCAD and does it need an update. QH felt plenty of parking at Hutton Roof for Farleton event
  • 2010 – need date for sprint champs and try to get other NW clubs to do/help with Middle distance race on same weekend Action RB, PK and SMcL agree date and email us all. PK to try to ask MEROC/DEE re sand dunes for middle distance
  • L5Day now asking us for a forested area – not sure we have one except Witherslack – much of which is not suitable?
  • BikeO/FootO Action MR to chase as gone quiet
  • LSOA – agreed wait and hope it is reborn CR suggested the Boroughs talk to each other and via their work with SMcL it could happen in a new format. No need to wait until all Boroughs are ready.

  1. Handbook – slowly updating, QH no mentoring but will try to do more. Copy sent to Mike O and Mary for Hampsfell, also to Roy and Juliette for Helsington  Action QH send old version to CR needs to update the Si bit and between them get more of the handbook on the web site.
  2. Juniors.
  • PPalmer- 2 teams and neither mispunched, had a good time and thanked the helpers.
  • John O and Sandy getting boys from LRGS to O Zone
  • SRJS trainings have started Action SW to email Jane
  • Rattles for JK etc Action KH to delegate investigation into these

  1. Club Captain.
  • do we take a coach or minbus to CSC? Action MR send out a group email and message board to assess demand, QH will book Caton minbus, no penalty if not used
  • Ceilidh – SW will coordinate and actions on others to do
  • TB not looking good due to half term and clash with another event. Perhaps investigate going to Yorks one in a minibus?

  1. Treasurer.
  • discrepancy on fees question from AGM Action MR and DC to investigate, we have a year to sort it out. Perhaps we should make the junior fee really nominal?
  • Relays – agreed BOC, JK, YB and CSC should be #1 juniors and #3adults with club paying the rest
  • Awards for All- DC asked that claims to be paid from this to be identified as such so he can see how much of that has been spent and account for it in the correct place

  1. Secretary
  • most matters discussed elsewhere
  • Insurance document from BOF – Action KN to copy to MR, DC, CR and RB
  • New ER3 linked to this insurance issue Action KN to email the above with the link to it
  • Action KN to email S Round the data he needs for NWOA subscriptions ( is this one reason those who are National BOF members pay more than Local SROC members?)

Agreed we could try to vary the night for meetings so that those with activities on Mon were not always inconvenienced. KN said many school events were Thurs and she could not get out of these. Try a Thurs in Nov.
