Matters Arising:

  • Dunsop Bridge / Witcher Clough now mapped
  • Witton Park- no PFO prefer nothing to complicate the BSOC Score
  • Beacon Fell and Stanley Park – new POCs very nearly ready
  • Waterproof paper  ordered, likely to be about 4 weeks
  • Castlefields now registered and map will be ready for next spring
  • PKs request for assistant at Healy Nab Action MO
  • BO Sprint Champs- Wow! Big thanks you to all involved but especially TM and QH
  • Blakeholme – no news yet but some seem to think it OK
  • Club Talent Squad- needs a coach and we are already too busy so leave it for now and consider next round (MR)
  • Funding (DC) Unlimited and Sports Match were not likely to be helpful but Cash for Clubs with 250,500 and 1000 could be KN/ TM suggested POC in Yarrow or Astley.
  • Training- discussed idea to have juniors separate etc but also as that was not really taking off the need for economy of effort, agreed to word it that ALL were welcome and then separate on day if numbers are big enough, could still invite juniors specifically

A.O.B.

* Chorley inclusion email from Adam B sent to TM, more O sounds good but need to check how it is being done. Action TM

* Club Statistician – Bob Nash was thanked for his work and amazement was expressed at the list of what he is trying to do within O. DC agreed things have become even more difficult. Action MO will look at it

* Future trophies, rules etc Agreed subgroup of GS,ME,MO and MN to get ideas and report back

*First Aid for coaches – agreed that NWOA pay half and SROC the other half, in fact we have already done so for 3 club members. Action DC

Events

  • summer series is progressing and MR will do a scoring and prizes for picnic Action ME to put in Lanc Guardian as a series . Some concern over best night- Tu clash with Lane quests, Wed Battle axe etc, Wed traditionally club night but Ripley was Tu.
  • Picnic- JL will update map and plan/organize all but food side. Clash with JC/SW so 1pm start and 1 hr score. Action QH see if hall might be available if wet.
  • L5D Helsington – in hand
  • Autumn series – some uncertainty on venues Astley, Yarrow or W Coppice or Lever Park Action RB ask. TM offered to plan/org. Also Spook O – AF will be abroad, HealyNab PK/MO. Some issues over dates  eg CSC next day, and that clashes with LDMT but RB cannot get dates far in advance
  • Street O – GF stepping down- she was thanked Action JL to write and thank. Bob Nash has volunteered- Thanks Action BN email out re lack of N events in draft plan, how far beyond normal club boundaries we wish to travel etc.
  • 2011 – TWT- where? Malcolm C and Frances not keen on Clougha, can we use Blakeholme… QH suggested borrow SilverHow.. Action RB ask Bilbo re borrow and area and suitability
  • Witcher Clough for handicap in early Feb and again district event in March – need time to refine map.
  • Sat events?? Chorley seem keen to help Action TM see how much they can do, will one be assistant to MO in Astley. Agreed see how low key summer eves go this year.
  • 2nd district event in spring Action RB ask DH re Nicky Nook
  • need to plan to use Chorley map now we have it. MO keen to link Duxbury and Yarrow- v varied, also we have Lanc Uni and Myerscough.

Mapping

  • AF will be in Japan next academic year so needs a stand in
  • Malcolm C mapping Hutton Roof Action AF get quote also resolve fact pg plot is partial and we don’t yet have permission for one field
  • Anglezarke- no action yet DH and MO have said will try to look
  • Heining Wood- no recent news Action AF check and say JL is keen to offer to help

Equipment

Much discussion about our needs and what will best meet them. Eg JL willing to do one man events but lacks Si skills. ‘Schools kit’ is expensive, could programme one of our boxes but no splits on day Action JL to ask how WCOC manage

Club Captain

Sheets of success at JK and BOC provided. ME obviously disappointed at last minute drop out rates but done very well collecting money. Thanked for efforts.

CSC will clash with LDMT

Social

Possibility of club cycle ride on June 20, Mary organizing Action MR send group email

Chair – nothing to report

Secretary- nothing to report

Junior Rep – nothing to report

Treasurer – not the end of a quarter, however..

Concern that BOC Sprint and L5D and TWT, our big events this year are not going to give us lots of profit. We need to plan events in near future to bring in income, especially as costs like St Johns etc are rising. We have 10,000 but interest is nil. NWOA collect and keep too much? We get a fixed 1200 from L5D? Should we charge more for very local evens in future? Agreed need to consider all this and discuss soon.

Risk Assessment / Heath and Safety  GF has produced new document and JL has thanked her, yes we have adopted it Action MO and MR are reviewing manual and then CR to put on web

Next Meeting Thurs 8 July
