Matters Arising:

·         Use of Hamish- for coaching we need to decide where, when etc. KN keen he start Club Mark as difficult to contact people over summer

·         No word on Silva and mapping awards yet

Events:

·         Agreed advance email of grid/ 5 year plan  Action RB email all

·         RB thanked all involved for Whitbarrow and Spring Series

·         Astley Park- thinning- may need some remap, help offered to TM

·         Summer Sprints- W Park and L Uni both need some remap. CR suggested organizer of each plans a pub venue Action organisers and MR to email

·         Picnic – move to Eggeslack due to cost, in hand CR mentor to Tom Barkas

·         Tues eves- after Easter L Uni outside, if nothing else is on Action RB register these and Cati 8 May Sizergh POC opening/ photo op.

·         Autumn – 4 in Chorley likely for 50+ group, exact dates and order of venue tbc and costings agreed (Runshaw also asking for activity for 150 students, TM and Bob awaiting word now costs suggested Action RB, Bob, TM

·         Spook O – different format to suit venue this year

·         Nov Urban event TM and Bob- initial meeting have happened

·         Preston Guild Street O Weds- RB Thanked Bob for all his hard work

·         2013 TWT- permissions OK but need organizer and planner. CR suggested weekend of O Action RB email other NW clubs and ask. Also suggested article in CompassSport Action QH

·         JL – made aware of a potential ‘disabled parking’ issue at BOC relays. Also L5D 2014 wish to use Hampsfell and S Ground – SROC to sort out permissions and car park. Also NW host JK in 2015 wish to use L Uni for sprint.

·         N Champs 2014- still unclear re date Action TM get clarity. Also concern over parking and permissions for Blakeholme. Agreed continue and hope Action DH ask FC re linear parking in S Ground but do need to consider other areas (Torver/Blawith? Torver High/Broughton?) and /or bussing from Cartmel?

Mapping:

·         Hutton Roof – struggling to get a base map, MC will try without, just take longer Action AF persue

Secretary:

Some concern at continued drop in numbers and how close to small club we may be. All likely to change after BOF AGM Action KN to have membership unit breakdown for next meeting

Treasurer:

Funds down a little as waiting for Whitbarrow money from Fabian and just paid for BOC and JK relays. Monet received from Ripley and Street O

Believe BOF AGM will pass changes to membership/ levy so that adults pay £5, children £2 and all pay£1 on every event (any activity with results) There was much discussion re impact of this. We will need to change our membership structure.

JL- NW CDM giving NW clubs £1000- just need to say how we will spend it. Agreed to ‘easy Si set’ £550? Then discussion re what else- extra club laptop, 4 more Si boxes, ‘bendy stakes’ with horizontal mounting. TM pointed out we could buy all if use some club funds. Action CR and Bob to suggest order of priority.

Club Captain:

Relay teams entered for BOC (10) and JK. (12) QH thanked for his help. Action ME email out teams. Nash family take club tent to JK.

Juniors: nothing to report.

AOB

·         April 21 Coaching on Caw (good prep for Stickle Pike) Action ME contact C McNeil (numbers, money, OCAD file)  and email MR details for group email. CR to add to website.

2014 – 50 years.

·         JL believes should rename club to reflect membership and avoid issue with S Ribble. Feels the ‘hand-over’ should be in Nov 2014. Suggested Bowland as link to 1st event and Red Rose (for Lancashire). Much debate. Committee – majority agreed to name change and idea that membership would vote YES/No on a name we suggest.  Both suggestions by JL already exist locally as fell/running clubs. Scarlet Rose was suggested (again). Action all consider possible names

·         How to celebrate? Agreed 50 events might be too much, better to enjoy and go for quality. Many suggestions- event on every club area, brand all as anniversary events, Club weekend away in Camping Barn with BBQ, GC way – as a club with members doing as little/ much as wish, invite other clubs to simple 4 leg relay as our birthday Action – all to think
