Welfare Officer
Sue Roome
Tel 01995 603885
Address 1 St Helens Close, Churchtown, Garstang, Preston, PR3 0HY
Email Sue@mroome.myzen.co.uk
Sue’s role is to help protect young people and vulnerable adults within the
club.
She is the person to contact if anyone has any concern that a club member may be
being bullied or abused. The idea is that if all concerns, however small, are
reported to one person, then a real problem should be picked up quicker.
British Orienteering has produced a card for young orienteers to record their
Club Welfare Officer’s details. It, also, contains some basic information about
how to look after yourself, and when to be concerned. If you would like one,
please contact Sue, or download one
here.
More information can be found on the
SROC website under “About
SROC/SROC Policies/Protection Policy”
or at
British Orienteering Website
(www.britishorienteering.org.uk) under
“O-Safe – Child Welfare Policy and Procedures at a club level”.
