There was heavy snow in the Lake District over Saturday night and into Sunday morning and if the event had been scheduled for 12th March then it would have been cancelled. Malcolm and Liz Campbell were out on their skis. Malcolm is the mapper and surveyed Whitbarrow in rather different conditions. Although he has been known to complain about sheep ticks we understand that he did not encounter any such hazards today.

The wintry conditions are set to continue into the beginning of the week. Please check the SROC website if bad weather is forecast for the end of the week.
