Eaves Wood Night Event

Eaves Wood - Silverdale (New Area)
South Ribble Orienteering Club invite you to take part in their
North West Night League event at Eaves Wood near Silverdale.
Location: parking in the scouts field, next to the public car park, grid reference SD 471 759.
Directions: from the North or South leave M6 at junction 35 and head into Carnforth. Follow signs for Silverdale. After the railway level crossing turn right and continue for 1 mile. Alternatively, come by train. Head North from Silverdale station for half a mile.
Terrain: mainly mature limestone woodland, some small open and semi-open areas which tend to have undergrowth. There is a good path network.
Map: Alex Finch map 2005. New area for open orienteering, only used for SROC Club Handicap 2006.
Scale 1:7,500. All courses pre-marked and bagged.
Descriptions: pictorial descriptions will be printed on the front of the map. Loose descriptions will be available, including written descriptions for the Orange course.
Courses: usual NW Night League courses, ie Orange – suitable for beginners to night orienteering. Green and Blue – for more experienced competitors.
Electronic Punching: SportIdent electronic punching will be used.
Fees: £4.00/£2.00 plus 50p SI-card hire if required.
Registration: open from 5.30pm.
Starts: from 6pm to 7pm. Adjacent to parking. Courses close at 9.00pm.
Results: results will be displayed on the night. Full results and splits will be posted on www.sroc.org as soon as possible after the event.
