SROC Night Street League Safety Notice
Taking
part in this event requires that you read and accept these guidelines and
conditions.
Participants
take part at their own risk. An emergency telephone number is on display at
Registration and printed on your answer sheet. Before starting, you should
consult the map displayed at Registration showing any specific hazards relating
to this event.
- You
must provide your details on the Participant Information sheet on your
first outing of the season (at Registration).
- You
must wear high visibility/reflective clothing. (A reflective bib may be
borrowed from the organiser if you do not have one.) You should also
ensure that you are adequately clothed for the current and anticipated
weather conditions.
- It
is strongly recommended that you carry a torch of some description. If you
have any concerns about losing contact with the map, you should carry a
compass.
- Wherever
possible you must use pavements and footpaths. Keep into the side of the
road if there is no pavement.
- Great
care must be exercised when crossing roads. Choose locations where you can
see in all directions and can be seen. Use pedestrian crossing points
whenever possible.
- Motorways
(and sometimes other major roads) and railway lines are out of bounds and
must only be crossed at legal, pedestrian crossing points.
- Only
public access areas are to be used. Do not enter private property. Do not
climb walls or fences. Do not take any routes not explicitly shown on the
map.
- Be
alert for pedestrians, particularly on blind corners.
- You
must report back to the Finish even if you retire.
- Please
report to the Organiser any incidents, accidents, injury or damage.
