Planners Thanks and Comments:
On the way to Chorley at about 4:30 the November rainfall doubled in less than 5 minutes so it was a relief that the evening cleared and the rain held off for what was a very good turnout boosted by some Chorley Harriers and a couple of newcomers. I knew that as Darren and I decided on the controls that those people visiting the far west of the map may find themselves struggling to get back on time. Those who managed their time accurately tended to come out with the higher scores with the penalties at 30 points per minute being quite punitive. A number of people put the answer 1B to number 46 even though there were three dashes for the correct answer of 799. I visited the control after the event and although there were two telegraph poles in the circle we have decided to disallow the two character answer, no more Mr Nice Guy. Congratulations to Ali for a good victory, the fourth different winner in the first 4 events and Steve McLean for a close second. Thanks to Balshaws School for hosting the event and Darren for sharing the workload of the event. One item of lost property, a blue elasticated knee support which will find its way to the next event at Blackpool on 12th December.
