Directions from Lancashire: Exit M65 Junction 3 and travel south on the A675 through Abbey Village, past Tockholes to Bolton. Descend the steep hill into Astley Bridge and turn left at the traffic lights onto Bar Lane.
Parking: extremely limited off-street car parking at the bowling club. 90% of orienteers will park on street in the local residential streets - please be considerate with regard to the interests of local residents. Consider parking on Ivy Bank Road, Thorndyke Avenue, Westminster Road or Hawarden Street.
Refreshments: The bowling club has a fully licensed bar and we are arranging delivery of a pie, peas and red cabbage supper from 8.30pm, from legendary local supplier Carrs.
Carrs pasties (meat and potato & cheese and onion), peas and red cabbage - £1.50 for first pasty, with £1 for each additional pasty. (NB I have ordered plenty of pasties as I know there are some keen pasty eaters among the SELOC street orienteers if not from other clubs as well!)
