Parking: On hard standing car park or road as overflow – please share transport if you can
Directions: From junction 35 of the M6 take the A6 then A6070 to Burton in Kendal. Turn right on outskirts of Burton at SD 529769 and follow O signs from here to car park at SD552762
Courses:
Yellow 2km
Short Tech 2.8km
Long Tech 3.5km
Terrain: Mixed woodland with track and path network with areas of limestone pavement, boulders, crags and stony ground. Very technical, but Yellow course is around the paths and very suitable for beginners.
Map: 1:7,500, 5m contours by Omapz in 2011. Printed on waterproof paper.
Entries: On the day only. Seniors £3 (no discount for BOF members). Juniors/students £1.
Times: Registration open from 12.00 am. Starts 12.30- 2.0. Courses close 3.30 pm. If you expect to
take a long time on your course please start early!

Facilities: Note NO TOILETS – NEAREST ARE AT CARNFORTH TRUCK STOP.
Safety: Wet limestone is particularly slippery. The ground off the paths is often stony with some low vegetation so take care where you put your feet! Full leg cover required.
There are some CATTLE grazing in the forest to improve the conservation value of the area. They are very docile, but please give them space and be courteous to them(!) to avoid startling them
Whistles and/or cagoules may be compulsory in case of very bad weather. Check for signs on the day.
